Internship Opportunities

MexEd is a small organization that relies heavily on volunteer support in carrying out its day-to-day activities. As such, we are seeking volunteers who will support MexEd as non-profit administration interns, working closely with the program coordinators, board members, and organization director, Robert Smith, to facilitate the organization's growth. We are flexible with respect to the time commitment required, and are willing to work with you to obtain college credit for your time spent at MexEd.

Intern requirements

  • High degree of self-motivation and creativity
  • Ability to work independently
  • Spanish-speaking a plus

Possible intern activities
  • Assist in institutionalizing MexEd practices and procedures (e.g., develop a comprehensive policy and procedure manual)
  • Locate funding soruces and co-author grant proposals
  • Conduct community outreach and education
  • Organize events including students, volunteers, and families
  • Other responsibilities as they arise/in accordance with the intern's interest areas

If you are interested in interning for MexEd, please fill out the volunteer application and send it, along with a brief cover letter, to info@mexednyc.org. We will respond to your inquiry promptly.
